When she was laid off in February, Patricia Guerrero was making $70,000 a year. Weeks later, with bills piling up and in need of food for her family, this middle-class mother did something she never thought she would do: She went to a food bank.

Wait. She was making $70k / year and
spending all of it?? Not saving a dime? Now she's getting unemployment checks and
doesn't have enough money for food? Does this sound fishy to anyone else?
Fucking. Retard.
I don't understand it. I really don't. Why do people think they are not responsible in any way for themselves or for planning their own future? There is no possible way, even in a city like NY or SanFran, that you couldn't save a little out of a $70k salary. FFS, learn to live below your means.
And I'm supposed to feel pity for people like this? I'm supposed to feel good about my tax money going to people like this? I hate it.
Why are our programs to help people find work so ineffective? Where is the government spending on jobs instead of handouts? Why are we so concerned about people who took out stupid loans when a giant portion of our population is ignored in slums and prisons?
And I'm supposed to feel bad about a middle-class white woman who couldn't manage her finances? She doesn't need money--she needs a fucking education.
Why isn't our tax money being spent on that?
Taxes take almost half of every paycheck I get. It feels like the government is grasping my earlobes and dragging me to a store I hate to buy crap I despise.
Argh.
I mean, I live in California you understand. So that takes a good chunk. Plus I'm "single" in the eyes of the law so get shafted there, too. =/

The Commissioner has general superintendence of the assessment and collection of all taxes imposed by any law providing internal revenue. The Internal Revenue Service is the agency by which these functions are performed.

The thing about those videos? They present these facts in a believable way, because they are things you can easily check so you figure they couldn't be lying about something so basic.. but they rely on you being a retard and not actually checking them.
It's like saying that plastic actually contains many animal bone products. It's easily refuted in like 5 seconds of actual FACT CHECKING but presented in a convincing way you just believe it outright and don't check.
Then you spew stupid shit like "I thought the IRS was a non governmental organization" on forums because you believed it outright.
We have it worse in Oregon, because we don't have a sales tax (great until you get a job) so the state of Oregon gets to dig deeper in your pocket once Uncle Sam has gotten HIS share. But yeah, you lose a LOT of money nowadays due to taxes. I'm tired of the US government supporting idiots. People like this lady need to have it rough for a year or so, so they learn the value of money and save a little bit. That's the best education, and it's FREE. I'd rather have the government spending their money on people more worthwhile, who actually did get fucked by the system and had no way to prevent it or prepare for it.
Funny how the rich people are always the ones who know how to properly spend and save their money, so that if they get hit hard, they can bounce back, easily. Then the poor people who need to put that much more effort into saving, don't, so they get hit even harder.
